Tracking Systems & Feedback
This is where everything becomes measurable.
I don’t rely on how I feel alone — I track key markers, watch trends, and use that feedback to guide what I change next.
How I Think About Tracking
Each data point is a signal. Over time, those signals form patterns. Those patterns tell me what’s working – and what isn’t. I couldn’t and wouldn’t have optimized with my Labtracker and my fundamental bio tracker – my Oura Ring.
1. Lab Tracking (The Foundation)
These are the markers that anchor everything.
While there are many markers in my Lab Tracker, these are the fundamental ones:
- Lipids (ApoB, LDL-C, TG/HDL)
- Glucose (fasting glucose, insulin, A1c)
- Inflammation (hs-CRP, Homocysteine)
- Thyroid markers (free T3, Reverse T3)
- Key nutrients.
I don’t chase “normal ranges”. I track trends, relationships, and response to change and I track the results from my calculators to see the pattern.
2. Daily Signals (Real-Time Feedback)
Labs change slowly.
Daily signals tell me much sooner if something is working. My OURA ring is a valuable tool.
What I watch:
- Sleep quality (deep + REM)
- Morning energy and clarity
- Glucose patterns (when measured)
- HRV and resting heart rate
- Body composition (not just weight)
3. The Feedback Loop
This is where progress actually happens.
When I introduce a change — nutrition, movement, supplement, or therapy — I don’t assume it works.
I observe:
- Immediate signals → sleep, energy, glucose
- Short-term shifts → days to weeks
- Lab confirmation → weeks to months
If something didn’t move the needle, I adjusted or removed it.
How I Make Decisions
I’m not reacting to single numbers. I’m asking:
- Is this trending in the right direction?
- Does this align with other markers?
- Did this change after a specific intervention?
That’s how I refine what I do – step by step.
What I Don’t Rely On
- Single lab results
- Generic protocols
- Symptoms alone
Each has value – but none are enough on their own.
The System (Simple Version)
Track → Adjust → Re-measure → Repeat
That’s the entire framework.
